Has anyone been camping in Wales if so where would you recommend?

We've been camping a few times in Wales. A lot of sites offer electric hook-up but we don't bother with that. I think the following sites did have EHU, but you'd be wise to check - why not look at ukcampsite.co.uk? Anyway, here are the Welsh sites we have stayed at & what we thought of them:

Woodlands Camping Park, Penmaenmawr, N.Wales (Spring Bank 1999): an AWFUL site! It was supposed to be family-friendly, but it was disgustlingly filthy with inadequate facilities & full of foul-mouthed, loud, drunken Scousers! We will never go there again.

Conwy Touring Park, Conwy, N. Wales (Spring Bank 1999 - after leaving the above site!): A big site, but with private, tree-surrounded terraces. Good facilities - even a drying room! - but sometimes a bit noisy. (Featured on an episode of Coronation Street!)

Tywyn, Gwynedd. (Summer 1999) Can't recommend, unless like we were, you're desperate for somewhere to stay for a night. It was dirt cheap, but the facilities were very basic & inadequate for a decent stay.

Riverside Caravan Park, Llandre, Aberystwyth: Have stayed here twice, once before the children were born & once when they were small. The facilities are reasonable & a pleasant, quiet site, but as the name suggests, it's next to a river. Quite apart from the dangers if you have small children, the last time we were there it rained heavily all night long, non-stop (from 9.30pm - 6.00am) once & the site was like a huge lake during the night; not sure whether the river had burst its banks or not, it may have just been the rain, but water was seeping up through the tent!

River View Touring Park, Llanedi, Pontaddulais, Swansea (Summer 2005): A quiet site, again next to a river, but quite shallow. Friendly staff. Unfortunately the new solar heated & bigger toilet block wasn't finished as promised, so the facilities in use were small and cramped. However, some friends have been here since & it's all finished & the site has even been expanded.

I do like Wales; however, being a mountainous country it seems to attract more than its fair share of rain!
