Has anyone been a GM in the Navy and can tell me anything more than the job cards,

anything I should know? I've already enlisted as a GM and i'm in DEP and I can still change my job. Is there anything I should know specifically? Tips Trips or Loopholes? The A school is 6 months, am I just going to be a pro at firearms once I complete it or what? Is this really a good job? Should I consider another? I scored a 71 on the ASVAB. Help me out if you will. Thanks
