Has anyone already updated their LG Optimus Black/LGP970 to Gingerbread from Froyo? Is it advisable to update?

I saw online that the Gingerbread updates has already been released but some say it has a lot of Chinese Characters. So I'm not sure if it's only a beta version or not.
