In 1992 I fell about 20' and landed on my feet. I ended up with a compression fracture of L1-L3. They fused from L4-T5 with Harrington roRAB. Since then I have had VERY liitle problems most of which were cured by a trip to the Chiro.

Anyway, I have had 2 motorcycle accidents in the last 3 years which has pulled the top section of the roRAB away from my spine. X-Rays also show beginning signs of a degenerative L5 and mild flatback. So, October 26th I amd going in to have the roRAB removed.

My question is about recovery and long term outcome. I have been told that I should be good to go back to works within 3 weeks and that the pain should not be too bad. Does anyone have any input on that?

Also, I'm wondering if PT and exersize will improve the curvature of the non-fused areas of my spine after hardware removal. ????

Any input on what to expect would be appreciated...

Hello,

I too am about to have my screws and roRAB removed in about 2 weeks. I've been told that the recovery time is fairly short and that it helps about 50% of the people.

Well if you're having it done before the 26th and are able to post-op, let me know how it goes...

Latest updates? How did it go?
I'm interested in having mine removed, mine are from t2-t9 and have been in for 5 years almost, i've kept very active, probably too much but would like to have them removed if possible
Thanks
