I am considering buying a harmony 880 remote. My question is i have a bell 5900 and a 6100 that i would want to control with this. The 5900 and 6100 use UHF remotes and antenna's, and from my understanding the 880 remote controls IR devices. Will the remote be able to control these devices?? Including all functions??(PVR etc.)

Thanks

Yes, the remote should handle both the 5900 and 6100. When you set up the harmony, you just tell it which reciever to use, and it does it all for you.

I set up a harmony on a 5900, and I had no problems at all.

I think that canadaman111 wants to be able to use one 880 and control both the 5900 and the 6100. I'm not sure that that is possible unless the 880 supports the use of Echostar's Remote IDs (i.e. set Remote ID to 1 for the 5900 and Remote ID to 2 for the 6100).

If it doesn't support Remote IDs, then you'll be able to use the 880 with both receivers, but the receivers will not know which signal is for which device. If the receivers are in the same room (this was common until the 9200 came out; if you wanted HD and a PVR, you needed two receivers), then you could run into some trouble.

Just an FYI.

I don't know about those two receivers specifically, but we use ours with three TiVo's, each of which has to have a different ID so they don't all respond to the same button push. The 880 (and both of two lower models we've tried) can correctly learn the IDs of our TiVo's. You have to take the remote that goes with each receiver, point it at the Logitech remote, press a few buttons so it learns the ID and then all the rest will be done automatically. They also have great tech support in my experiencce!
