harley davidson special orders?

cany anyone tell me why h-d doesnt not do special orders? in this bad economy you would think all manufactures would do anything to get a sale.my daughter likes the harley 1200N "nightster" but wanted the blacked out motor thats optional on other sportsters.the engines are exactly the same and are built at the same assembly plant,its not like she was asking for a transparent bike or a v8 engine.the salesmen at the harly dealer told her no way no how does harley EVER accept any kind of special orders unless its just some kinda paint scheme that h-d has allready approved.she went and bought a new kawasaki the next day.too bad, she really had her heart set on a new nightster

want aware of that fact,but I dont buy bikes I build them and that way I get EXACTLY what I want.Anyway as far as H.D. is concerned I love the bike but F--K the factory!

Im not sure what it is you wanted doing to it!? They arnt slaves to the customers so if you want it customised you would have been best off going to an aftermarket company.
