Harley Davidson No crank problem sometimes?

I know of 3 H-Ds that will not crank part of the time hot or cold. If you jump the starter they start. 1994 heritage, 2001 FLHIC & 1998 FLH. I'm looking for someone that has had this problem & fixed it. Not what maybe wrong.
