I have reworked a set of stock evo heads and want to install a set of screaming eagle hi lift springs. However, the lower spring collar will not sit all the way down on the valve stem. I have tried heating them in oil, still will not fit. These are supposed to be evo valve springs. In addition the rocker plate will not fit over them. Please advise

Call your local HD dealership.
They will give you a few tips and advice.
Do you really want to trust someone off the internet with your HD?

I realize you are using Screamin' Eagle parts, but The S&S installation manual gives some details that the Harley manual doesn't,and may help you some.where did you get the parts? 18281-02 is the kit you need for an evo.I would cross Reference your part numbers on the harley web sight or in the catalog. because valve stem diameters changed in '05 .I'd bet you have the wrong parts for your application.
