Harley BOOM speakers are well worth it.

Man this makes my head hurt. I've been trying to figure out which speaker upgrade to get for over a year. I just want better sound and more volume for my tunes on my 09 SG. I had decided on J&M 7.25s, and I think they are still my first choice, I just wish I could afford to spend the money on an amp to go with them right now.
So many opinions, I guess I'm just gonna have to make an educated guess, pull the trigger and order something and see how it works out. I hate crap-shoots...

I put the new BOOM audio speakers in the front and they are much better than stock, Louder and more clear, I can run at 70mph at 1/2 volume. These are a cost effective improvement IMO.

This arguement over the 'best speaker' reminds me of a neighbor who worked for the local Chevy dealer for a few years, and only talked and breathed how great the Chevy products are over the Fords. He recently went to work at a Ford store, so now guess what his story is. Bottom line, once a salesman, always a salesman, no matter what product he pitched yesterday or today.

I will note that those who posted on behalf of the Booms! are riders and not selling anything, just stating their opinion. It's pretty clear that someone rep'ing for J&M Audio is selling speakers to make a living. While maybe those speakers are (subjectively) the best, a salesman is still a salesman. Just look at my neighbor... think you can convince an AMSOIL rep that Syn3 is a better product? (Answer: Not until he is no longer an AMSOIL rep. This example is for illistration purposes only; I currently am not running either one, so I don't want to enter an 'oil' debate, thank you.)

Besides, I think the initial point of the thread was in part, how well they sounded over the stock speakers and not spending a ton of money to upgrade, or upgrading speakers and adding an amp. Since this thread was supposed to be about Boom! speakers, there is a 'sticky' thread regarding a J&M Speaker review...

Well said UltraClassicElectraGlide, one really needs to have a filter enabled when listening to a biased opinion from the J&M sales guy. When it comes down to it my money is going to the Boom speakers simply because they're sold by Harley-Davidson. Wouldn't they know what is best for their vehicle?

What gets me is if you read all of these threads, you do not see 1 complaint on the Boom speakers. For the money they seem to be the best upgrade. I have been trying to decide on speakers myself and will wait a few more months before I do anything. I have ridden a SESG with the Boom speakers and I helped installed them so I know they are an easy change and big upgrade in sound. Is there better out there? Probably, Is there any better out there comparable in price? Not sure on that. I guess it is going to depend on what I want out of the system and what I am going to do in the future. I just like to listen to my music loud.

I have Pioneer Premier speakers all the way around as well as a Pioneer Premier amp pushing 75 watts to each speaker. While it's loud enough and the mids and highs are great they are still lacking bass. Do you think the BOOM port kit would help? Heck, for $60 it's worth a try but I'd like to get other opinions.
