Soundride ,,,,,

certainly you have a point, and everyone is entitled to their own opinions,,,,,

but we have tested the new Harley Boom speakers side-by-side against the J&M's, using separate motorcycles, and the exact same CD audio source, not only at our audio display at Sturgis, but in our R&D shop as well ,,,,,

Many customers and by-standers heard the difference at Sturgis, it is there and it is obvious, whether my name is JMJOHN or SantaClaus ,,,,,,

I have been doing this for 33 years and I make SURE that the J&M speakers are the best available ,,,,,,

Thank you for listening ,,,,,

John,

Perhaps you , or a person with no vested interest , could post sound clips of each of the set-ups.

Or perhaps, forum members could post sound clips of their stereo systems, for everyone to hear for themselves.

Also, is there anything like a "dyno sheet" , for lack of a better term, that would show on paper, what the sound graph, ( if there is such a thing), looks like.

Opinions are great, but I'd like to be able to hear the difference between them all,................just for arguments sake.

I had the Booms installed on my 10 Road Glide Custom a few weeks ago.IMHO it is a great improvement for very few dollars. No doubt , the after market systems mentioned may be much better, but for the money, I would highly recommend the Boom speakers and I can use the coin I save for other mods on my to do list. Outer fairing must be removed but I did it during a warranty swap of my head unit.

What you're looking for are frequency response and THD (total harmonic distortion) plots. They quantify the often subtle subjective performance characteristics of speakers and other audio components.

Here's an example I grabbed from Google Images...

HARLEYRn ,,,,

I don't mean to be rude, but the J&M's are the best available ,, I make sure of that ,,,,

been doing nothing but motorcycle audio for 33 years ,,,,

Everybody settle down! J & M's probably are the best. Trouble is, a lot of us are so old we don't hear as good as we used to so we can't tell the difference! And if you can't hear the difference, why would you pay the bigger price for the J & M's? I mean look at the material in a speaker (any speaker) and tell me they aren't way over priced to start with! IMHO
