hard lump on chest below clavical

Hello, I am a 30 year old female with a hard lump on my chest bone below my clavical. It is about 2 inches in diameter, doesn't move, and feels like it's connected to my bone. It has been there for about a month and seems to be getting bigger and is starting to be visible to the eye. It sometimes hurts but only at night. There is not a bump on the other side either and it wasn't there a month ago. I do have an extensive family history of a wide variety of cancer, but nothing of the bone. Any advice???

Is this in the center of your chest? If it is it is probably your ziphoid(sp) process which is a normal part of your body.

If you have lost weight recently it will be more noticeable.

It isn't in the middle of my chest. It's on the left side, but I have recently lost 65 pounds. But i haven't lost anymore in 2 months and it's only been thre for a month....hmmm...

I just looked it up and the xiphoid process is waaaay lower then where my lump is at, so again all I can say is hmmm...
