1.A man was to be sentenced, and the judge told him, "You may make a statement. If it is true, I'll sentence you to four years in prison. If it is false, I'll sentence you to six years in prison." After the man made his statement, the judge decided to let him go free. What did the man say?
2.. You have a barrel of oil, and you need to measure out just one gallon. How do you do this if you only have a three-gallon container and a five-gallon container?
3.If your sock drawer has 6 black socks, 4 brown socks, 8 white socks, and 2 tan socks, how many socks would you have to pull out in the dark to be sure you had a matching pair?
4.How did Mark legally marry three women in Michigan, without divorcing any of them, becoming legally separated, or any of them dying?
5.Mom and Dad have four daughters, and each daughter has one brother. How many people are in the family?

1. "You will sentence me to six years in prison."
The judge cannot sentence him to four years in prison because then it would be false, and he cannot sentence him to six years because then it would be true, so he lets him go.

2. Fill up the three-gallon container, then pour it all in the five-gallon one. Then, fill up the three-gallon one again, and use it to fill up the five-gallon container full. Then, the five-gallon will have five, and the three-gallon will have one.

3. You have to pick five, because since there are four colors of socks, five will guarantee at least one pair (unless someone else sneaks in and put a green sock in :) )

4.Mark was the priest or minister, so he "married", or performed a marriage for, the three women.

5. There are seven people. Mom and Dad have the same four daughters, of course, and the family has one son, so each daughter has the same brother.

Hope this is correct!

1. I sometimes tell the truth.
2. Fill the 3 gallon container, dump it in the 5 gallon container.
Fill the 3 gallon container again, and dump it into the 5 gallon
container. That makes 4 gallons in the 5 gallon container and 1 in
the 3 gallon container.
3. 5 socks - it is possible to grab 4 different color socks without doubling
up. 5 will guarantee at least 1 complete pair.
4. Mark was a priest or justice of the peace.
5. 7 - 2 parents, 1 son, 4 daughters

1: "You will sentence me to six years in prison." If he sentenced him for six years because it was a lie, it would become true. If he sentenced him to four years because it was the truth, it would become a lie.
2. Pour it into the three gallon, then pour the rest into the five gallon. Then pour the three gallon into the five gallon, and only two of the three would fit, so you'd have one gallon left.
3. (this is the only one I can't figure out) But I'm guessing two? Because, wouldn't they be folded?
4. He was a priest, and he married them to somebody else.
5. Seven. Two parents: Mom and Dad. Four daughters. One son; he's brother to all of them.
