Hannspree TV 120hz compatibility with my laptop?

I would first like to kindly ask that if you aren't 100% sure of your answer, restrain.

Here's my situation: I recently purchased the Asus G53JW-3DE that has a true 120hz screen, a 3D ready graphics card (GTX 460m) and the transmitter integrated into the lid. 3D gaming is great and I would recommend it for everyone. If you don't like it, you can simply turn it off and run some games up to 120 fps no problem. It has HDMI 1.4 out.

I'm currently looking at purchasing the Hannspree ST42DMSB HDTV, and using it as a monitor via HDMI. It has a 120hz refresh rate and sports HDMI 1.3.

My question: Will this TV be able to display things in 3D, even though it only takes HDMI 1.3 input and my laptop pushes HDMI 1.4 out? I realize it may not be meant to, but I'm looking at all my options. If it's truly 120hz, then I feel as though I could cheat the system and use it as a 3D TV.

Another question. I've read that one of the major differences between HDMI 1.3 and 1.4 is that 1.4 can display 3D in 1080p24, and 1.3 can do 3D in 720p60. If this is the case, shouldn't I be able to use this to display 3D from my laptop?

If you were awesome enough to read the whole question and give me an answer, I very much appreciate you and your helpfulness, and would be willing to return the favor if need be.

Thanks so much!
