Handling Aggressive Cat?

How do I handle a cat that's aggressive? He's normally okay, but whenever he doesn't get his way he starts meowing loudly and lashing out at me, which really hurts because he bit me on the face once and I'm scared I'll end up hurting him when I have to be rough and push him away.
We clip his nails.
I think I found what's wrong, he's hyper but he can't go outside.
 
With those agressive cats, I like to flick on the nose when they swipe at me. Show domination, even pinching the back of their neck and going "TSSSSSK" really loud. They should get the point you wont put up with their BS...

Show em who is boss! :)
