About a month ago, I stayed up late a couple of nights opening and closing stainless steel rings. I make chainmail jewelry and I literally opened and closed at least over 100 of them using pliers not to mentioned other jewelry was made over the course of the week at about 5-6 hours at a time. Ever since, I've had aching in my wrist, back of my hand, and palm. It's worse on the right than it is on the left. I also work in a jewelry store for a living so I string beads, tag and work with pliers every day. My hands don't seem to be improving all that much after a month and I can't seem to grip basic things like I used. Using a fork or spoon after 5 minutes becomes uncomfortable to do and my toothbrush has been sliding a bit from my grasp when I brush my teeth.
My general doctor gave me an arthritis cream and that was it. I tried epsom salt after I didnt like the side effect of the cream. He said I don't have arthritis and didn't name what it was. I need to see a specialist but I don't have insurance. Any ideas on what I could possibly have wrong with my hands? Or how much a specialist would cost me?
