My hamster runs on the wheel and then suddenly jumps out and starts "bulldozing" his paper bedding with his nose, until his head is hidden under the paper and freezes. He stays still like that, breathing very fast, for a minute or two, and then starts running around again. I'm afraid that he is feeling bad or sick. Just in case I'll add that I keep him in a fish tank without a lid.
