Hadn't seen a halloween film for years, and managed to catch Halloween H20 on Sky the other night...

My memory isnt what it used to be, but was Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee-Curtis),
always Michael Myers sister?

and...
How does he come back into Halloween: REssurection, whe n he had his head lopped off in H20?
 
It was revealed it Halloween 2 that Laurie was Michael's
sister
whereas in the original he was just a psychopath killing babysitters.

When they made the sequel they felt they needed something more,and it was made around the time of The Empire Strikes Back ;).
 
To answer the second spoiler;

It wasn't michael who had his head cut off. apparently when the paramedics arrived at the end of H20, michael had time to crush the larynx of one of them, swap clothes with him and disappear. So the injured paramedic wearing michael's mask is put in the back of the ambulance. The reason he doesn't tell laurie he is not michael is because his larnyx is crushed, it is also why he grabs at the mask before she cuts his head off. laurie is then arrested for murdering an innocent man. there's big problems with this solution regarding timing and where michael is laying when the paramedic approaches him, but hey what would Halloween be without poor continuity?
