Halloween BBC1

I'm watching it but I'm really tired. Doubt I'll make it to the end.

I need to get it on DVD. It's one of the best horror films of all time. Modern horror just doesn't come close to gems like this.

Im watching it too but I get scared to easily, really dont want to sleep in my double bed on my own in the dark after I think its just the Michael Myers mask that scares me!!! and the scary music!

You're right there! I've seen this film loaRAB of times but was out last night so couldn't watch. I like the way it relies on scares and not gore like alot of the modern horror films.

I just feel that horror of the 70s and 80s had characters I could actually care about. The female heroines were more than just tits and arse and there was actual story behind all the gore and killings.

Modern horror turns me off because the characters are always so unsympathetic and bland, and there's no sense to the killings...storylines are thinner than the paper they're written on and it's just boring.

I find more depth in the older horror flicks. Nothing wrong with some senseless violence but I like nothing more than movies that stick in my mind and make me think.

It's a toss up between this and The Shining as the scariest film I've ever seen.

And I agree that the soundtrack (particularly the opening theme) is great.

I wacthed this yesterday on DVD. I thought it would be bloodish but it wasn't, waiting for MM to come was scary as hell and the music scared the freekin hell out of me! :(lol

Love Halloween. It is one of those films that I can watch over and over and never get bored. Good old fashioned slasher at its best.
John Carpenter must have laughed his socks off, cashing in on the remake.
