I had died my hair (slowly, by a professional) blonder and blonder over the last year or so. I went today to get it darkened with low lights. She decided to dye it all over (a brown color- lighter than I would have hoped because I know it will wash out) and then put highlights in it. Now that it's finished, I'm thinking I want it just a little darker (my goal is to have it an ashy color brown). I've used a box before where you dye it all over and then use a wand to pull highlights through (I forget the brand), but I loved it when finished. Should I go ahead and do that? Does anyone know the brand who does that (I can't remember). Thanks!
Also, Whats the problem with ash? Why do people say 'Don't use an ash based color!!' Whenever I've dyed my hair brown in the past with ash, I've liked it. Anytime I go to a professional- it always looks a little red- WOOF!
