Haert beat in ears

Sometimes at night I hear my heart beating in my ears, not enough to keep me awake - sometimes louder than others. Tonight, I can hear my heartbeat in my ears while I'm up and walking around or sittng. It isn't real loud, but when it's quiet I can hear it very plainly. I had a physical in late Dec., Dr. listened to my carotid and didn't indicate that anything was other than normal. I saw him today for a benign PVC thing I've had for 20 years. It's been acting up a bit lately. I thought that could be the problem. But I've never heard the beating so loudly while I'm up and about. Any ideas?

I have that in one of my ears.

If you can try and silence noises around you in the daytime, if you're like me, you'll hear it then too. You only hear it at night because it's quiet.

It's normal, I can't remember what it is, but my doctor reassured me I would be hearing it forever and to not worry about it.

At first I thought I had a massive thing of wax in there! Moving around. Eew

I've had this all my life too. Sometimes only at night, sometimes during the day, louder/softer, left side/right side, etc. It's really annoying. I think it's called pulsatile tinnitus.

When I was a kid laying in bed at night I imagined it was the footsteps of a burglar walking through the leaves outside my window.:rolleyes: LOL
