I'm freezing cold
Yet I'm sweating like crazy
I’ve never felt this fear before
With shaking limbs
I crawl out of bed
Afraid to make a sound
Terrified to make a noise
I grab Annabel
My choice of weapon clear
I make my way to the door
Feet firmly on the floor
I hear a noise
A sharp whip-crack
I spin around
As the shadows begin to merge
I'm confronted by this beast
Magnificent, yet horrific
I cannot run, nowhere to hide
No way can Annabel pierce its armoured hide
It raises a gargantuan claw
And prepares to crush me
It treats me to a mortifying screech
Before lunging to impale my torso
A wake with a start
My hearts like a humming bird
It was all just a dream
No, correction, a nightmare
