im active duty army going to korea to my first duty station. Right now im a PFC. now i know that to become an e-4 from an e-3 meaning going private first class to specialist it takes 18 months, can someone tell me that from the day i left for basic or entered basic which was may 4th till now, did this time counted towards my promotion or the 18 months of service that i need to go from an e-3 to a e-4???
