Had a Microdiscectomy l-4/ l-5 9mm bulge on 5.18.10 with problems

Hi,

I had a Micodiscectomy on 5.18.10 L4-L5 9mm bulge pinching the nerve root left side, causing hip pain and leg pain. 2 days after surgery I had more pain than I did befor the Micodiscectomy, I had different leg pain and back/ Hip pain.

So I contacted my surgeon he ordered a MRI and found that i had re herniated my L4- L5 again and i have a fluid build up that neeRAB to be drained. So I am sech to go back under the knife this Thursday and wanted to know if anyone else has had the same issues.

Yes but not so close together. I herniated L5S1 had a foot drop and had a microdisc. then a year later I herniated it again, another micro and 2 months later it herniated again. I should have gotten a second opinion because I ended up herniating it 4x before I finally decided on a fusion. I would get a second opinion and a reason why it herniated again. If the joint is unstable you may have to do more then a microdisc.

If you over do it after the operation there is always a chance of re injuring yourself, or possibly the surgeon did not get all of the disc pieces out of the area? Be sure to ask questions!
