I had a CT scan on my back which came up showing no abnormalities. My back has been aching for 7 months, I have tried exercise then no exercise & seeing an Osteo and nothing has helped, it's in my lower back/sacrim area. Just wondering if anyone knows if it would be worth having an MRI or if the same results would show as the CT scan.

You MUST have an MRI ordered, its a totally different test. These are commonly ordered with back pain. In my experience you can see in an MRI a specific area with or without contrast. If you are having back pain a good DR will order MRI scanning. Take good care!

I agree with backinblack. If you know something is not right then keep asking for more test. MRI is what showed my bulging disc's. Even after that I was told that it didn't look that bad. I was in terrible pain the whole time! Surgeon ordered a discogram which showed not only two bulging disc, but that they were ruptured and leaking as well. Up till then it was said it was a lurabar strain and the bulging disc didn't look that bad. Now I am 4 weeks post level 2 l4-l5 fusion. See how much they know don't we!! So, if you know it's not right, question everything until you have peace of mind! Hope this helps, take care of that back!

Thank you both for your advice I'm sure now an MRI is the right thing to ask for. Take care

My daughter is 2 weeks post-op for a ruptured disk. Without the MRI she would still be in pain and not able to walk, so I agree with everyone, ask for that MRI.
Feel better soon.
