GZ 250 transmission problems

Hi, I'm new to the group and have a GZ250 something small just go runnin' around. It not bad for small bike. After it runs awhile and gets hot, its difficult to shift. I was told to change the trans fuild by some friends but not sure where to drain and fill. The manual doesnt mention trans fuild at all.
Any suggestions ?

:welcomes: I may be wrong here, but I think all you have to do is change the oil.

lus1: Indeed "the oil" serves both engine and transmission.......as it does on most bikes.
I'd be skeptical about mechanical advise from THOSE friends.

Hi fellow bikers,
I have just this minute joined your forum. I have returned to two wheels (no not a wheelchair) after a good many years. For the last year I have been gading about on a Honda CT110 (ex postie) but now feel like something more powerful, so have bought a GZ250 (which her-in-doors thinks I'm minding for another bloke) and I noticed that it has no centre stand. This brings me to my first question: Just in front of the rear wheel on the bottom of the frame is a U shaped plate with two tapped holes. Is this where the centre stand was fitted?

The GZ250 does not have a center stand. Just a side stand.
