When going to the gyno for birth control, do they test you for stds? if so, which ones and how?

They usually won't test you unless you request to be tested. And if you do, the gyno takes a swab and swabs your vagina and sends it off to get tested and about a week later the results come back. And it's usually Clamydia and Gonorrhea they test for. Maybe HPV.

You have to specifically request most STD tests. Not only that, but doctors vary a lot in what their standard tests include. Make list of what you want to get tested for and tell the doctor.
