Last year I signed a gym membership contract for my friend who was, at the time, under the age of 18. We are no longer friends now and I was wondering if she doesn't pay her fees will I be the one getting charged? When I called the gym to ask if I could take my name off the contract, they told me to yes just come into the gym. When I got there I spoke to a lady who informed me that they would not come after me because they don't have any of my personal information(address, banking, telephone). They would apparently only go after my friend and all they had of mine was my signature. When I asked her if she could guarantee this she just said we only have your signature and no way of contacting you. For some reason I think I remember showing my ID the day we signed the contract and I think I remember her scanning it but i'm not sure and they told me they have no info on me. I do not want my credit to be ruined or end up with a huge bill....am i safe? What exactly should I do?
