I'm going out for dinner with a friend on Valentine's Day. However, when we were making the arrangements, I just said 'how about Monday night?' (we had to reschedule from another day earlier this week). So, I don't think he knows it will be Valentine's Day!
I like him as more than a friend, but would it be weird if we go out to dinner and then he realises it's Valentine's Day? Would it make it more awkward? How would you feel if this happened with you?
And, on the other hand, could it be a good opportunity to let him know how I feel? If so, what are some ways I can give him an idea without telling him straight out?

Previously when we've caught up, we've gone for a walk on the beach with ice-cream & watched the sunset, or for dinner at a local pub or something. Date-like things, I suppose, but until 6 weeks ago, he had a girlfriend (they have now broken up because she's overseas for 6 months). So, I think we've just been catching up as friends - he's pretty laid back and is a very loyal person. Last time we caught up though, he complimented me on what I was wearing - I don't know if he was just being nice though? He sometimes messages me, but usually I initiate it.
