guys playing hard to get?? what should i do?

well this guy acted like he was real into me, like he'll always just stare at me and i could tell there was something there. so i started to like him back and then he started playing hard to get. dont get me wrong i LOVE it, im the kind of girl who likes a chase, but at the same time it's kind of frustrating because i reaally like him. iv heard that some guys play hard to get so they're less vulnerable and dont want to get hurt, so they act like they're not interested when they really are. but most guys who like me have tried to pursue me havent played games when i start to show interest. i just want to know what it could mean and what i should do
