I was talking to one of my guy friends the other day, about how different men can be attracted to different types of women. I was like, yeah, I can see the attraction for this kind of woman but if I was gay, then I'd prefer this kind of woman. Then I asked him what kind of guy he would prefer if he was gay, and he said that he couldn't, or didn't see men as being sexual beings - including himself and his guy friends that he'd known for years. (We're both straight, by the way, and just friends).
Let me emphasize something - this is not about pretending to be gay (or pretending to be straight, for that matter) - it's about seeing the inherent sexual attractiveness (or lack of, if you're asexual) in every person, regardless of orientation, gender, or sex.
I find this to be quite surreal. If you can't see your own gender or biological sex as being a group of people with their own sexuality and their own individual attractive traits as sexual beings, then how do you perceive yourself as a sexual being? That is, are there a lot of men out there who honestly don't know why or how they're sexually attractive to women? If they don't understand women's sexual attraction to them, then what do they think they're doing when they're trying to hook up with a woman? And if they can't perceive or be aware of their own sexuality, then how do they expect to attract a woman?
This is not just my friend that I'm talking about either. I've heard of a lot of guys who don't see the attraction in a hard-on, same as there are women who can't understand the attraction to large breasts or pussy.
