ATLANTA (Reuters) - A gunman has barricaded himself inside a home in Georgia and is holding five firefighters hostage, Gwinnett County, Georgia, police said on Wednesday.
Police were at the scene, and no further details were immediately available, a police department employee said. According to reports cited by WGCL-TV, the firefighters had responded to the home in Suwanee for some type of medical call.
Suwanee is about 35 miles northeast of Atlanta. Television footage of the scene showed a well-groomed neighborhood of two-story homes filled with police cars and fire engines.
