Are concealable weapons legal without a permit as long as you do not conceal them? The gun I am referring to is the Bond Arms Ranger. Does anybody know if I can buy a 4 1/4 inch barrel for the Ranger in .357 Maximum? Also out of such a barrel what would the ballistics look like?

The short Answer is .... DEPENDS.

Depends on where you live, and how old you are.

In Pa... while the weapon is concealable...open carry is legal (there are some restrictions...but legal none the less).

To Conceal a weapon (handgun) you would need a permit (In PA)

I have toyed with getting one in .45 ACP... but then I come to my senses every time I try and shoot the derringer in an emergency situation...I'll sacrifice a little concealability for ease of use.

from their website...doesn't look like you can get a 4 1/4 barrell for the .357 Mag.
