This isnt important, i always wondered why on expensive guitars (metal guitars) like Jackson's , Dean's , ETC. there is a plastic white border on the edge of the guitars neck? what is this? why is it only on the expensive pro guitars? and on cheaper models there isnt no plastic on the edges of the neck? Here are some pictures showing what i mean .
Here is a cheaper guitar without the white plastic on the edges= http://cachepe.zzounds.com/media/quality,85/brand,zzounds/2910024303v1_hi-da82dfe71cacf71e41aa0b3f0c48cce0.jpg

what is the purpose of the plastic bordering on the neck of pricey guitars? so your strings dont flip off the neck when you bend? whats the deal? someone help?
