Guitar Pedal Board and Effect Pedal?

I've been playing guitar for 5 years now and really want an overdrive effect pedal. I have a Line 6 Spider lll 15 watts so I cant have a pedal with multi effects. Do I need a pedalboard for an overdrive pedal? And is the Danelectro DJ-1C Pastrami Overdrive Mini Effects Pedal a good pedal. PLEASE HELP! I REALLY NEED TO KNOW QUICK!
