CARJACKING CRIMINAL GAME Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) will go on sale at midnight tonight and is expected to sell like hotcakes.
Some people apparently already have the game and a scour of social networking websites has revealed examples of people unboxing, playing and selling the game. The INQUIRER knows someone who got his copy at the weekend.
In the UK, Amazon is advising people that if they order the game now for the Xbox 360, they are going to have to wait a couple of days for shipping.
"Please note - due to high demand, orders placed for Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox 360) from September 13 will be shipped as soon as we receive inventory," reads a note on the Amazon webpage.
Some have taken this to mean that Amazon has shipped all of its copies already. If it has, this could be considered shipping early and possibly bad form.
The message is not repeated on the Playstation 3 (PS3) ordering webpage. We have asked Amazon if it has sold out or if there is another reason for its warning to Xbox 360 punters.
Supposedly the game will go on sale at midnight tonight, which is actually tomorrow. High street videogame flogger Game will open its stores at midnight to welcome prospective GTA V players.
The game has already seen some leaks including details about its radio stations, which are always a key feature of GTA titles, and the scale of its maps.
Grand Theft Auto V is available in a range of editions. The cheapest of these is priced at about £40. µ
