GTA 4 PS3 can't install on some people's systems.

it's not an isolated issue to PS3's

it's like the gta3 issue with saved cars or the Gta SA issue with saved games in general damnit Rock Star!

I would imagine the PS3's frame rate was stuttering too much at 720p so they had to drop some lines of resolution to get it up to an acceptable frame rate.

I guess... They really should of made the PS3 the lead platform and ported it over to get the best result.

Its funny that the lead platform in this case is a slightly less superior version than its port, for both graphics and frame rate issues First of its kind.

Well, also consider this. The 360 Dev kits were out before the PS3's and final hardware for the 360 was available long before the PS3's. I think they didn't even have final hardware specs for the PS3 and were even considering dropping the Cell a year before PS3's release. Anyway, since all the developer tools were available before the PS3 was even in final hardware, they probably started developing it for the 360. I'm just guessing, but if it was built from the ground up on PS3 we would have it April 29th, 2009 instead of 2008.

Your system works fine but you can't play the game. My system not working would just make me mad. Having a perfectly fine system... well shit... you can't even send it in to be fixed.

So you exchange the disc. I haven't heard of any install issues. Nobody is complaining on any other forums. This thread is the only mention I've seen of it. If it were true, you'd probably see it all over the major gaming sites.

I dunno, go find JediMasterMatt's post... it's around page 34 or so.

And when ever I go into the PS3 thread I don't go a page without seeing 2 or 3 posts about people bitching about how the online for GTA doesn't work.

Yeah it went down last night, which didn't surprise anyone with the amount of people trying to go online at the "same time". On the 28th Microsoft had said they were expecting it to possibly crash on them and were working hard to make sure it doesn't happen. Though Sony wouldn't comment on it, which made me think that Sony knew they'd be fucked and didn't want to tell us - Sure enough, it happened and Microsoft kept theirs going.

Been working fine all day today though, have had no issues playing a bunch of online games.
