i suffer from irregular heart beat, ectopic beats, dr said its due to stress and anxiety. ive had 2 holter monitors 2 chest xrays a heart scan and just lately a ECG all normal but the ECG showed irregular rythum and the holter monitor showed palpitations/ectopic beats (whatever!) but for the past month i feellike i cant breath especially when im standing upi feel like there is no more room inside my lungs, its alittle easier when im lying down but not much, the dr cant find anything wrong with me and says its just anxiety and to try to stop thinking aout it,easier said than done matey!!! i feellike there is something really wrong and because of my breathing i will have a heart attack or something horrible, i am not hyperventalating when it happens just struggling to breath, my blood ox has been normal when tested. i dont get it :(

When my panic attacks and anxiety first started about 2 months ago.. I was getting the same thing. Nov 1st was the worst. I was on the train and I felt like I couldnt completely breathe in or catch my breath for anything. I thought my breathing wasnt good enough to get oxygen in my system to go to my brain. I thought about the worst possible things ever. Sometimes I still experience it but when I started my lexapro it took a while for me to get used to it. I really dont have issues with it as much as I used to. It is a horrible feeling though. Just try and breathe in for 4 seconRAB through the nose then out the mouth for 4 seconRAB. That was helpful for me when it was needed. I would advise maybe going to the doctor to get some blood tests done to see if there is any other issue going on. I feel for you and hope you feel better!

Do you have trouble with panic attacks or have GED (generalized anxiety disorder)? Has your doctor prescribed anything to you for your breathing? Anti-depressants/anxiety or heart medication?

I know exactly how you all feel. Ive had exactly this for about 3 years now. I knew i had to get help when i couldnt even get in my car without feeling short of breath. I went on Prozac and after about a month i felt better. But i still get like it sometimes, but not nearly as much. Unless you get these episodes no one knows quite how bad it gets.
