Pulling out of a parking lot my car began to jolt, didn't seem to be getting good power and the RPMs and Speedometer started going crazy. I pulled over, checked my oil. It had enough oil, I checked my tranny fluid, and again it was fine. So I just added 1/4 quart of oil just to play it safe. I got back in, and my car ran fine. Except my speedometer no longer works and neither does the mileage gauge. (the coolant and the rpms work fine now). I made it home. I went back out and it did it again. This time my dad was with me. He re-checked all my fluids and couldn't find anything wrong with it. The green light around me D4 is on and the check engine light is on.
However, after these problems I drove 2 hours to go see my in-laws, on 95 the car was perfectly fine. The green light was blinking, but the check engine light didnt turn on until I got off the highway and slowed down. It didn't jolt at all the whole way down.
Today it all started again. It jolted and the lights came on. What could be causing this? Would it be really expensive to fix?
(I have called firestone, pepboys, advanced auto parts and autozone...no one knows anything)
Yesterday my car did a few quick jolts and lost a lot of power when I was pulling out of a parking lot.
I told my fiance to pull over because I thought my oil was low. I checked the oil and just added 1/4 of a quart just to play it safe (but it said it was full after I did that). Then the car rode fine,
