Great Trailer, Bad Movie

I was wondering if there were any films that you were really looking forward to when you watched the trailer but were incredibly dissapointed after viewing the film. Hellboy 2 springs to mind.

What about you??

No trailers at all make me want to see films. It's mainly down to THAT VOICE they ALWAYS use without exception - that deep, gruff American one - regardless of whether the film is a high octane explosion-fest or about some kid dying of cancer.

As a great deal of trailers are taken from films that have not been through the final editing stage they often show bits that never get to the cinema unles it is the director or producer's cut.
It's true, that voice is so annoying.

LOL, yes, that voice and it just seems to get gets deeper and gruffer whenever they do a new trailer. Actually, it's hard to take any film seriously with that sort of voice over.

I can't say that I've ever seen a great trailer and been disappointed by the movie. Generally, if it's a film I plan to see I'll know about it months before the release of a trailer, so the trailer doesn't really play any role in me deciding whether I see the film or not.

Often I'll watch trailers on DVD's and occasionally think I like the look of that and they've turned out to be good films. But no, I don't think I've ever watched a good trailer for a bad film.

Tell a lie.....Sunshine, how wrong, very wrong I was.

Great reviews for Bad films, now that's a different matter all together.

I remember seeing the trailer to the remake of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and thinking it looked really scary for a modern horror and that it looked really great.

How very very wrong I was. Terrible film, not at all scary and an insult to the original.

The comedy show Monkey Dust used to do brilliant sketches about the guy who did the voice-overs on those Hollywood trailers. It would show him in ordinary situations, like having dinner with his family or buying a newspaper, and he would say everything in that OTT voice :D

Fab trailer Crap film - Superman Returns.

Thank you! I agree with this, it makes the film look sooo cheesy! One of my favourite books and I now have absolutely no desire to see the film.

Definitely - "Here's a film that's just the same as all the others I just mentioned." More often than not, I'm usually pleasantly surprised having seen a trailer that didn't appeal at all.

Definitely Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.

One of the greatest, tantalizing, exciting trailers ever made.

One of the biggest pieces of crap I've ever seen.
