all i saw was a commercial for gears with some song that added a cool dramatic dimenson to what's otherwise the same FPS thats been released over and over forever.

Obviously I haven't played enough shooters, bu GoW pretty much finds the perfect balance between fps and 3rdps, between run and gun and keeping cover. Not to mention online is so addictive. My only complaint is no dedicated servers yet for multiplayer

ive played a lot of FPS. i'm sure gears rocks, but i'm not as much into horror-survival as i thought i'd be. hl2 was a lot more fun than doom3 for example

gotcha, its the story line. I've got a friend who doesn't like games that aren't realistic, fighting aliens is crap etc etc. I don't care as long as its a shooting game
