When I was about 14, I developed terrible hay fever which was worst in June and July. Over the years, it seemed to improve, but about three years ago, I suddenly started getting a blocked nose which nothing would shift. First of all I thought it was hay fever, but it seemed to last well on through the autumn and winter. I saw my GP and an ENT specialist who couldn't find anything wrong; the GP prescribed several different steroid sprays and various corabinations of pills, but no difference. I was referred for allergy testing, and the only test which was positive was for grass pollen. Despite this, I still get a blocked nose all year round - it is particularly bad at night and in the evenings. I use Sterimar spray to clear it at night, at so long as I don't wake up, I get a good night's sleep. If I do wake up, I never seem to be able to clear it and quite often, that's it for the night...
The blocked nose is the only symptom I get, but at only 26, I don't really want to spend the rest of my life with it - it is very unpleasant an perpetually irritating. I'm really looking for suggestions for other things I could try - I've really got to the stage where I'll try anything if it will make a lasting difference - getting rid of it completely is probably a bit too much to ask!
