Hi,

I have a Grandfathered Ultimate 7 package with HD since HD was available. Bell upgraded my 6000 to a 6141 for free and I have a 9242 as well. I get a really good deal on this package so I don't want to change it.... I do get MHD, MPIXHD, HBOHD1, HBOHD2 as part of this package - and channel syncs are happening because superchannel HD free previews (and other channel free previews) have come and gone as per the dates in the info... I do not even see the 2 new TMN HD channels as of yet (although I got a letter in the mail from TMN annoucing the additional channels at no extra cost to TMN subscribers).

I am debating calling in to see if I can rectify this but I really don't want to have to change my package.

There are some SD channels subscribe to that I have never had the HD version of: Showcase, Discovery. I think this is normal, but the TMN ones have always kept coming as they added HBO etc....

Does anyone with a grandfathered Ultimate package get the 2 new TMN HD Channels?

Just so you know, MXSHD and MFNHD do not air any programmes that are not also available on TMNHD. These are mainly channels that show the same programming, but at a different time.

This can sometimes be convenient if you miss a programme on TMNHD, however, if you have a PVR, this is usually not an issue.

I don't wish to comment on what might happen if you call BTV regarding the issue, although you should be able to get the channels activated without affecting your package.

Call.

Even if you call, they won't change your package if you don't want. The way TMN announced it the new channels are part of the multiplex should be free to anyone with a sub to TMN HD regardless of their provider.

It is Bell TV's policy that when new HD stations are added you must subscribe to the most current version Genesis programming.

You could add Discovery HD for $1.99/month

Hmm,

I don't think I'll rock the boat as I do pretty much watch everything PVRed so if there is no new content on the extra TMNHD channels its somewhat irrelevant.

As far as the other channels go I do get Oasis and Treasure (I have for a long time) and I am currently getting AMC and AMCHD (now I need to check to see if that is a free preview or not) without any package upgrading.

AMC HD is like some kind of bad joke - it is definitely SD content that is often stretched to have an incorrect aspect ratio....
