Over the past week alone I keep seeing people trying to correct askers of questions when they put is/are or do/does in front of the club name. So which is correct?
Or does it even matter really?
Q2: When people say BPL, is it possible they are calling it "British" PL instead of Barclays?

If you ask me, like I said to Magno, the club is a singular collective now so you should use the singular verb in front.
*singular collective noun.
