gotta ask again, 1992 ford explorer 4.0 only starts with starter fluid?

Just picked up the truck, sounds like the guy before me used starter fluid to get it started. Well thats true. I'm thinking fuel filter????

Sorry but no. Have the fuel pressure checked. I am shure you will find that there is little or that it is low. The pump is going or already gone. You will have to drop the tank and replace the pump.
