As I stated i just got my green card through marriage. When I was filing my application for permenant resident status my wife had to file affidavit of support and my friend filed an affidavit of additional support, because my wife income wasn't suffcient to support both of us.
That being said, I have a question mark on top my head. If we had to file such documents, obtaining financial aid could make me ineligible for permanant green card and/or citizenship.
Please answer if you previous experience or have good knowledge about the issue.
