...Under Timing Cover" Is This Serious? I went to Honda to get my transmission fluid changed. Well, I got it changed, paid, and was on my way. Well, that was a few hours ago...
A few minutes ago I was looking at the receipt and I read under the comments section that the guy doing my transmission fluid change wrote "Found oil leaking from under timing cover". I guess they didnt feel like telling me this before I left the dealership! So is this a serious issue? What could be causing this? I dont even know what a timing cover is. is this an expensive fix?
I just had my timing belt and water pump changed about 6 months ago from another place, could they have installed it bad--could that be causing this leak?
Also, a few weeks ago i over revved the engine while driving 70 on the highway. i accidently pushed the automatic gear shifter into 2. it revved really high and it was only in the 2 about a second or so. i dont know if this has anything to do with it either. 99 automatic civic with 95,000 miles please give me your opinions! thanks
