Got a new iPhone... how do I transfer data from my old one to the new one?

I just bought an iPhone off my friend. How do I transfer data (contacts, pictures, etc.) from my old iPhone onto my new one? I have the backup files on my laptop from my old iPhone. I am not good with computers at all so please help me out!
