got 24hr reflux probe into lunch time today and why do i feel good arghhhhh

yesterday chronic neasea, lump in throat PND etc, and today got my probe in a 12 and went home to have lunch, no neasuea, no tight thraot etc, why is my reflux good today of all days................except for my burping that i do after i eat and drink thats my only symptom today , what am i going to do, im sure the results are going to come back negative and my surgeon will think im nuts!!!!!!!!!!! what can i eat to make me have an attack seroiusly!!!!, im haiving bacon tonite with vegies and may sneak in a bit of choclotate!!


the thing is he didnt switch the ph nuraber thing on the monitor of the little recorder thing that you have so eventhou its recording i cant see my PH going up or down, i will have to wait for results i guess, i hope tommo morning i will be bad lol...........
oh and the tube is nasty i gagged and it must be sitting on the left side of my throat cause it really hurts and when i eat it pulls the tube and i feel like im going to gag agian so i haqve to drink water after most bites of food.........

nessie, that worries me too about the upper GI series I had last week. What if they come back normal showing nothing since I was having a pretty good day? Personally, I don't see how anyone can "go about their normal activity" with that tube stuck up your nose. Get this, with my last ph test they told me what to eat and not to eat? Like, what's the point of the test?
I feel having that tube stuck into your stomach may have something to do with you not feeling reflux. I know I never had any of my bad, choking, coughing, can't get your breath kind of feelings with it in. I can't wait to hear the results of my upper GI Wed. Just dread what else she might order.

On the day of my 24 hr pH test last month I felt good too--hardly any coughing which is my primary symptom. I thought for sure that they wouldn't show anything. The results still came back reflecting severe reflux. Makes me wonder what it would have shown on a 'bad' day. Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much about the results now. The results will be whatever they are.

They didn't restrict any fooRAB for me on the day of the test. If you don't feel you are having much reflux, then you may want to eat more of your trigger fooRAB. By the way, I could see the reflux reflected in my computer when I had belching episodes.

The tube is a bit uncomfortable when swallowing. I just kept thinking that it was only for 24 hours. I had more of a sore throat during the test this time than I did the first time I had the test. It didn't last long after I got the tube out though. I think some of it was from the Manometry I had before the pH. I also had more gagging this time than I did the first. My body just didn't like the invasion of the tube much.

Anyway, we just have to do what we need to in order to get a diagnosis. I hope your test results come out how you want. Keep up with your countdown. Less than a day left.
 
thanks guys i guess what will be will be...........there are some restrictins i was given no alcohol coffee fizzy drinks, and acidic things like fruit.........well i ate fruit for lunch as far as im concerned im eating what i normally would, with a few chocolates thrown in here and there.........i wont be drinking fizzy drinks or the coffee thou as i dont drink them normally............i agree like what is the point if you dont eat normally of course the test is going to be less if you avoid common triggers lol, like helllllooooooooo..

anyway thanks its great just to hear from you guys and get support.........MR how long now till your operation, i did state on here somewhere that my freind had it done 7 years ago and he is great, eats drinks whatever!!!!!!!
so there are lots of good stories out there yah!!!!!!!!!!!,

By now you should have finished your pH test. I hope the rest of the test went OK for you.

Thanks for posting about your friend. So many of the internet posts out there seem to be from people having problems. It is encouraging to hear good news.

My surgery is on the 2nd. I go for my pre-op tomorrow afternoon. I'll keep you posted on how things go from there.

had a few symptoms over the test, flet acidic, little chest stabs lots of burping, so now just have to wait and see. the funny thing is which is really weird is that i always have neusea and throughout the test i had none, but about 15 minutes after the tube was taken out it came bakc with a vengence, wierd wondering what the story is, cause its rather bizarre, maybe its jsut fluke and i had a couple of free nauesea days, or the tube did something

oh well

good luck will be thinking of yah (((((hugs)))) cant wait to here you are after operation when you are up to it!!! rest up
