Ok I'm not sure how you keep getting this info stuffed up..

The numbers refer NOT to mm lenses.. but to DEGREES of field.

The 54* is like \./ ... the 170* is like _._ well not quite, that's 180*

Just been playing again and the thing is crashing. Each time it crashes out it produces a 0km file which it can't play. It just crashed as I was D/L the files.. the only way to turn the thing off is to remove a battery. Is anyone else having the crashing or jamming on issue?

170* camera.. The wide angle lens tends to straighten out the corners so any hair pins look like 90* sweepers ( not that there are any in THIS film)

edited down using Windows movie.. Selected Hi quality.. still stupidly large I think.. Yes we drive on the CORRECT side of the road.

This is some of the only footage I got from my camera. Notice, as it goes further, you get to see more and more of the front fender.. About 5 mins later it fell off onto the road.

The bike is my 01 900 SS, the camera was mounted under the headlight above the fender and set to record 'upside down'

Turn the sound up. I had it set to 'lo' otherwise there is too much wind noise.

Oh just looked at it.. you NEED to select View in HIGH quality

Interesting....what other info have I got "stuffed up"? Or point me to the time in this thread where I replaced a focal length for a field of view. Sorry, but without the camera in hand...and as a photographer, I just used standard knowledge of focal lengths as describing lenses...didn't consider field of view as a measurement.

I'll be more careful next time for sure, but I wouldn't say I "keep" getting this info "stuffed up" since I did it once, and my other info isn't at issue. I'm just trying to help here as well....and definitely would like to be accurate. I appreciate the correction.

Nope you're right.

I must have just read your post 3 or 4 times before answering.

It does seem a little odd that you weren't sure what you did buy though, perhaps there was only one choice on the market when you did. The 170* are kinda newish. It would be good to find out of you bought a Mk I or Mk II. I have heard there were some issues with the Mk I std lens

Truthfully, it was a total impulse buy. Most times I do quite a bit of research before buying anything like this...thing is, a couple of my friends at the shop had them, and I had customer points (a kind of customer appreciation dollars program) where I didn't actually have to pay a thing. So, well figured! There was only that particular one available, so no choices for me at that time, plus....it was basically free. Although at this point, I wish I would have spent my accrued "appreciation dollars" on something that works.

Usually, I'm all about the research...the details, and the fun. This little buy has been nagging me every step of the way with every use. Which is why I'm thinking of going a different route. I do love the case though, and the waterproof nature of it. Believe me, I've tested that plenty. Waterproof yes!!!! But stay on.... No

Just picked up my GOPRO HD along with a Sandisk Extreme 8gb sdhc card and i couldn't be more impressed! Only question i have is how should i mount it to my triple clamp? So far its been mounted only to my car helmet or window with great success. As for the battery problems previous posters that have the old aa/aaa batterie models, check out the Sanyo eneloop rechargeables! As a semi professional photographer i use them in all situations I need aa/aaa batteries and outlast/outperform (more consistent flash output) anything and everything i've tried!!
