"goosebump" like bumps on my arms..

For.. as long as I can remember I've had these small goosebump like bumps from above the elbow to below the shoulder.

Most of them do nothing, they just stay the same size, I think they are small pimples as some of them grow to the point where I'll pop or scrape them, and they'll eventually go away, but there is thousands of them.

This is on both arms, same places, but it seems as if my left arm has more of them and they seem to grow on my left arm, but not my right.

People notice them and say "Wow, what is that on your arm?!" and all I can say is "I don't know." because I really don't know.

Someone told me I had a deficiency of a vitamin or something, I don't know if it was a joke or if he was serious so I never took it that way.

After a shower, they don't seem to go away, they just become less "bumpy" and my arms feel more smooth, but then once again it will return to the same way they are.

I know they aren't dangerous, but they are a nuisance to keep an eye on and it's embarrassing to have what looks like thousands of small pimples growing on my arms.

Any help would be much appreciate.

Look up "keratosis pilaris". Keratosis pilaris rubra if the bumps are red and inflamed; keratosis pilaris alba if they aren't. It's sometimes related to Vitamin A deficiency. Sometimes, exfoliating the affected area may help prevent them.
A dermatologist might be able to help.

I looked up Keratosis pilaris alba, and Keratosis pilaris rubra and I can't decide which I have, it varies, right now the bumps are red and the skin doesn't seem to be irritated, but sometimes the skin around the bumps will be red too, I think it depends on how hot it is. (right now it's cool indoors)

I looked it up and someone said they took a Vitamin B3 supplement named Niacin (and not niacinamide) at 250mg.

What are some other conditions of Keratosis pilaris alba? I know that one of the posts I read about it on another site, a woman was saying that since taking Niacin her feet and hands have become warmer.

I've noticed that my feet when I shower will be so sensitive to the water in the shower that they will burn as if set on fire, and it'll take a good 5-10 minutes of having the water soak my feet before I can manage the burning.

Thanks for the info! Will definitely get this looked at, many of the people who also have Keratosis pilaris alba said they had their bumps on the outer side of their upper arms, which is EXACTLY where mine is.
